Boston rapper LTC (Lightning the Cape Verdean) releases his first Hip-Hop album.
LTC (Lightning the Cape Verdean) whose real name is Agnelo DePina is a rapper.
He debuted his first album "My Turn to Shine" on November 10, 2008 as an
unsigned artist. The album includes such songs as "White Girl" and "Gorillas in
tha Mist".
LTC is a solo Hip Hop/Rap artist born in the Cape Verde Islands and
raised in Boston, MA, living in Roxbury, Uphamms Corner and Dorchester. Some of
LTC’s influences include such Hip-Hop greats as KRS-ONE, RAKIM, NAS, Jay-Z,
PUBLIC ENEMY and EPMD. LTC also produces and writes his own music and lyrics.
LTC is a former DJ for LIVE 91.5 in Milton MA. He was a former Dance Club DJ
with more than 15 years of experience spinning music. LTC attended the Jeremiah
Burke High school in Dorchester MA. He also interned at KISS 108 FM in Medford,
MA and has a Masters degree in Internet Communications from Suffolk University
in Boston MA. LTC also has an Undergraduate degree in Mass Communications from
Curry College in Milton, MA.
LTC produced and wrote the entire 2008 release "My Turn to Shine" including
the song "White Girl". LTC had this to say about the song, "White Girl is slang
for “Cocaine”. The song White Girl is referring to cocaine as “White Girl” it’s
not making the comparison between a white woman and cocaine.
Simply, Cocaine is rapped about like it is a girl. Some artists like Nas and
Chamillionaire have written similar songs that refer to “Money” as a girl".
LTC speaks both English and Creole fluently and sometimes incorporates the

Biography:: My name is LTC (Lightning the Cape Verdean). I am a solo
Hip Hop artist born in Cape Verde (Fogo) and grew up in Boston MA., living
in Roxbury, Uphamns Corner and Dorchester. I went to High School at the
Jeremiah Burke. I have been rapping for more than 10 years. Some of my
influences include KRS-ONE, RAKIM, EPMD and RUN-DMC.
What makes me unique from other rappers? Well, I rap in English and/or Cape
Verdean and sometimes I mix the two to create a unique prospective. I also
write my own lyrics and Produce my own beats. This allows me to create
exactly what I feel inside. In addition I absolutely love Hip Hop.
I use my music to both entertain and to enlighten. For example my single
“White Girl” will make you dance, laugh and think about the horrors of
drugs. White Girl is slang for “Cocaine”. The song White Girl is referring to
cocaine as “White Girl” it’s not making the comparison between a white woman
and cocaine.
