Zed Miller is an
independent singer songwriter living in Brighton, UK. His music is melody
based pop, written on the piano and recorded in his private studio.
Pianostring
"Pianostring" is his new album, 12 personal tracks written over the past few
years. "I am very pleased at how it turned out", he says, "I wrote two or
three tracks in the months just before release as I felt it needed something
extra - I'm satisfied now with the variety and feel,
and I love watching my friends' reactions when they hear it".
Independent
Miller was keen to release his album independently. "It's more fun these
days to cut record companies out of the loop and try and sell something on
your own - it give you an enormous sense of satisfaction when people like
your music and you know you've done it all yourself".
Secret Harmony
The first single "Secret Harmony" is one of his favourites. "You can look at
the world on so many different levels ... and on one level I have this
beautiful image of us as sweet little animals, stuck to the earth living our
daily lives, while the Earth turns and the sun is on fire. This track is
about the universal music we aren't really aware of that underpins all our
lives and keeps us all breathing and interacting".
What's next?
Zed is keen to record another album. "I can't wait to get started on a
second album, which I feel will be totally personal, probably slower and
more jazzy with less drum and bass. I have matured a lot over the last few
years and have so much to write about. I can't wait to start writing songs
again, but I have to wait until I can get this one out of my head."
