At just 25, Weathers has managed to put together a kaleidoscope of original music which both highlights his talent and potential. Songs such as “Maria” and “Mind, Body & Soul” have become anthems for those who both seek and appreciate genuine talent. The group’s rhythm section is equally impressive. Driven by veteran musicians Sammy Boe (Drums)& Kevin Rennels (Bass), the group’s sound is intense both live and on CD. The Josh Weathers Band, a fearsomely talented quartet that calls Fort Worth home, gets sticky-sweet soul all over its agreeable pop-rock to fantastic effect. These nine tracks, which comprise the foursome's sophomore CD, The New Serenade, are steeped in a variety of sounds, and the fellas wisely shy away from leaning too heavily on any one influence -- everything from Al Green to John Frusciante inspires 'em. The rockers have also developed quite the reputation for leave-it-all-out-there live shows, racking up lots of experience at area clubs. Weathers, whose gritty, emotive vocals belie his 23 years of age, also relies on the flawless musicians backing him up: Drummer Sammy Boe, guitarist Justin Elliot and bassist Kevin Rennels. The New Serenade is a strong showing, a disc that feels fresh even as it acknowledges a considerable debt to the past. In a nice touch, the group is donating $1 from every disc it sells in 2008 to the recently formed Carter Albrecht Music Foundation. The Josh Weathers Band will celebrate the release of The New Serenade, along with Hurt Street and the Campaign, Friday at Lola's Saloon in Fort Worth.

Febuary 1, 2008-The Josh Weathers Band is scheduled to release their second album "The New Serenade" Febuary 15, 2008. Following 2005's self-titled debut album, "The New Serenade" is 9 tracks of soul inspired roots rock bliss with hints of The Band, Elton John, Stax and Motown. The CD Release Party will be held at Lola's Saloon in Ft. Worth, TX with opening acts Hurt Street and The Campaign as support. The show is set for all ages and tickets can be bought for $8 at www.joshweathersband.com. The JWB has decided to donate $1 to The Carter Albrecht Music Foundation for every CD sold in 2008 starting Febuary 15, 2008. The band is a very big supporter of local music and their donations to the foundation will help support DFW musicians.
