“Don’t Change” new single from Light Euphoric
Los Angeles, CA - Light Euphoric is the creator of what band mates describe as humanitarian pop. The humanitarian pop of Light Euphoric duo Tam Katzin and Chad Quist merges world music, adult contemporary, new age, pop, rock and more into a signature style that is packs a message without abandoning a sense of fun and sparkle. “Don’t Change,” a cover of the classic tune by INXS, has been announced as the new single from the album “If We Believe.” “Don’t Change” reveals Light Euphoric’s more pop rock-based side while still maintaining the atmospheric flavors of the pair’s new age stylings (particularly in the lush intro to the song). “Don’t Change” highlights Light Euphoric’s use of melody as well as the vocal intertwining of Quist and Katzin. The juxtaposition of Katzin’s shining, ethereal voice with Quist’s crisp tenor comes alive in both back-and-forth switch-offs and goose-bump-raising harmonies. It’s an energetic take on a contemporary classic that shows Light Euphoric moving in the a rock direction but keeping it grounded in the roots of Light Euphoric’s sound.

The duo was drawn to the INXS song because, despite seemingly dark lyrical themes, “Don’t Change” pointed toward healing, resolution, the sun peeking through the clouds. “We felt the lyrics dictated an initial state of the soul as it had shifted,” says Katzin. The song, she explains, seems to point toward shifting into the state of becoming joyful, non-fearful and understanding that it’s our choice how we feel, act and react to our life and the things around us.” Every song on Light Euphoric’s “If We Believe” CD comes with positive exhortations that resonate with truth, rather than the hokum frequently associated with “new age” music. Most of the songs on this album are specific message songs about love, unity and taking responsibility for changing one’s self … which we feel is the first step to planetary change.” “Don?t Change” was tapped as the lead single because, though a cover of another band’s song, it seemed to embody what Light Euphoric is all about.

Quist and Katzin have been close friends for more than 15 years, collaborating on several projects, from musical stage shows to advertising jingles. Their personal music history includes collectively sharing stages and projects with Kenny G, Ray Charles, Tower of Power, George Benson, Basia, Huey Lewis, Head East, Diane Schuur, Dave Grusin, Lou Rawls, Jamie Foxx, Diane Reeves, Clark Terry, Lionel Hampton, Jerry Mulligan, Lou Tobaken and Louie Bellson. Quist still tours with Big Brother and the Holding Company, of Janis Joplin fame, and has enjoyed more than ten years of writing and recording for Muzak.

. In recent years, Katzin and Quist began to focus on their shared passion for giving back to the community; they realized a true desire to assist humanity through the only way they knew how - one song at a time.

. Previous releases include “One With the World” and appearances on the “Big Indie Comeback” and “Amanda Greenwood & Friends” compilations. Light Euphoric has received international accolades and awards in a variety of contests, including MusicAid and Crimson Circle, and all five songs on “One With the World” ranked in top ten charts at www.indie-music.com. Light Euphoric is currently working with A&R Select, the premier A&R firm based out of Los Angeles, CA.
