 Raya Nova is

Grae Ryder: Vocals/Rhythm Guitar
Leonardo Cartes: Percussion
Manuel Rodriguez: Bass Guitar
Jason Petek: Drums.
Raya Nova started under a different name in 2002 around the Berkeley/Oakland area CA. It was known as Down The Sol with a different configuration, but for several reasons it wasn't working and broke up in 2004. It reconfigured immediately as Sol Spectrum, as an acoustic trio (Eduardo, Grae, Leonardo) and tried for almost two years to find the right rhythm section.
We consider our music as Progressive/Alternative Rock with some Latin. Our influences range from
Pink Floyd to The Buena Vista Social Club.
We've done many gigs in the Bay Area with several musicians at places like Beckett's, Jupiter, Bottom of the Hill, Rock it Room, B st Bistro, and finally decided to record our own album ourselves with no help, mostly because we couldn't afford it. After we finished our album, we found our best rhythm section yet and they are still with us (Manuel, Jason). So, in January 31st, 2008, we released with great pride and joy.
