Yes, it’s true, we’re twins! Our names are Courtney & Stephanie and we go by our last name FERA. Born in Vancouver but raised in Coquitlam, BC, Canada, by our parents Tony and Rose along with our two older sisters, Kate and Carlye. Our dad (pharmacist by day, musician the rest of the time) taught us to play guitar at age 8 and immersed us in all different types of music including Everly Brothers, Elvis (Presley and Costello), Fleetwood Mac, Squeeze, Vince Gill and tons more.

At age 14 we discovered Hanson, learned to play the drums and practiced everyday. Years passed, as we accumulated journals of lyrics, we pretty much disliked everyday of high school but finally graduated in 2000. Now our journey into the music biz truly begins. We played our first show in Maui at our dad’s Pharmacy Convention, we heard Patty Griffin for the first time, and we turned our lyrics into songs and recorded our first demo CD, “The Music Room”. We find a sincere passion and ability for song writing, we play everywhere in town from coffee shops, open mics to pubs and recorded our second demo CD.

We hired a live band, recorded our third acoustic demo CD and begin playing bars and festivals including MountainFest, New Music West and more. We gave our demo to award winning country Producer, Tom McKillip and he loves it. With Tom on board, we recorded our first full length, full band CD entitled, “Familiar Feeling”. We will never stop song writing, we keep applying for and playing the festival circuits and embark on our first tour of BC. We released two singles off Familiar Feeling, “Dark, Dirty, Dusty Hallways” and “It’s Gonna Be Ok” to Canadian Country Radio and toured the Interior of BC again. We won some song writing contests, we get nominated a couple years in a row at the BC Country Music Association Awards, and we never stopped playing.

Our most recent accomplishment is earning ourselves a showcase at 2008 Canadian Country Music Week in Winnipeg, Manitoba at the Songwriter’s Café. This year was our first time attending the CCMA festival and it proved to be a great one. We attended a seminar called "Hitsville" put on by Ole Publishing, and our song "Fairytales" got us a one song publishing deal with Ole('08 CCMA Publisher of the Year). We were also nominated for 3 BC Country Music Awards this year and had the opportunity to perform at the show. Currently we are writing new songs and getting ready to do some more recording.
