Tricore have an identifiable style of their very own. An important trait shared with many influential bands, past and present. They excel at being both alternative and memorable. Over the years they have crafted a sound that sets them apart from the infinite throng of bands around today. Whether that’s a positive or negative thing remains subjective but it’s a fact and one they pride themselves on.
Tricore have always had an overwhelming desire to create music that remains individual and true to themselves as oppose to following the latest scenes & trends. Heavily and diversely influenced by various bands of the nineties their focus has always been on creating strong hooks, awesome melodies and powerful riffage. They serve the songs above all else. Whether through technical prowess or simplicity it’s the songs that matter along with a constant desire to refrain from having any fixed boundaries. There has to be strong definition that runs through all core songs so they always sound like Tricore tunes.
Tricore play down tuned heavy music that’s complimented with unforgettable melodies. It’s a style that definitely has broad appeal and has secured the band airplay on several radio shows including Total Rock & Kerrang.
The band were formed by Chris Kerley in 2001 under the name Unbound in Woking, UK. The band has gone through a merry-go-round of members ever since, only really stabilizing in 2008. The name was switched from Unbound to Tricore in 2006 and was originally going to be an experimental instrumental act. By 2007 Chris had learnt to sing and drum simultaneously and the band decided to introduce vocals into the set.
The band has had two main releases. In 2007 they released their first e.p “Unbound” which is available at shows and through Itunes. And in 2009 they released their debut album “Less than man, more than rabbit” with the CD being available at shows, online and soon through Itunes.

“The syncopation, precision, domineering and overall band command is quite impressive”
