Ani Lozanova
Born on the 29 of August (on the same date as Michael Jackson), but in 1975, in Berlin, Germany. The “first seven years” lives there. She shows talent early in her life. Her first music appearance is when she is only three years old, in front of amazed Germans in the underground of Berlin.
After her young parents had graduated with their education in economics, the family returns to Sofia where Ani enters in the primary school. Despite her strong vocation for the music and the guitar lessons (a gift from her grandfather, making her the “soul of the company” in the school), in 1990 Ani is admitted in the German school in Sofia. This is just the place where she meets the person thanks to whom she starts on the road of music. This is the guitarist Julian Markov. Realizing her talent, but in the same time annoyed by her lack of self-confidence, Juli compels her to participate in the popular TV show “Hit
Minus One E”, whose target is to bring to light young pop singers. Thus, at the age of 16, Ani makes her debut on the stage with the song “There’s no shore” written by the guitarist Ivan Lechev.
During the German school, inspired by the ninth anniversary of John Lennon’s death, she writes her first own song.
In 1994, to a great surprise of her family where there have been no musicians at all until then, she takes the decision to try for the Academy of Music “Pancho Vladigerov” where she is accepted as a student after passing brilliantly the admission examination. In the second year of her studies, Ani is the first female vocalist who sang on the stage of the club Swinging Hall, that then just opened in 1996 in Sofia. After that follow participations with the group Geronimo practically every night and since Ani is a singer who does not spare her voice on the stage, she nearly loses her voice. The doctors recommend operation on the vocal cords but the singer has undertaken a very important engagement – to participate in the contest for Bulgarian and International Pop music
The Golden Orpheus. Together with her friend, the saxophonist Borjana Dimitrova, they play a very improvised of the classic Summertime, only voice and saxophone. In this contest the singer presents for the first time the song “I’m dancing by myself” by the composer Rumen Gajdev. After this event Ani stops singing almost for one year
Ani leaves Geronimo, but then together with the guitarist Mitko Karnev they decide to create their author’s song. Thus was born “I can’t fall asleep”- the alternative hit for which the tandem “Anna
and Dimitar” won the ovations in the contest “The Sound of
Passport” and which changes the Bulgarian music forever.
In 1998 the singer receives an invitation from the producing company Edita to write a song for a massive Anti
Aids campaign. “Another dimension” sounds also in the documentary film to the campaign, where Aids diseased are telling their stories.
After graduating from the Academy of Music in 1999, Ani begins traveling round the world as a singer in show programs.
In 2002 appears her long-awaited debut album MIRROR (Orpheus Music) including the songs recorded during the years. Her recent artistic life explains the variety of styles in the album (pop, rock, alternative).
In the same year the singer makes a unique photo session for the cover of Playboy's seventh issue. The photo session coincides with Annie’s birthday and the shooting day in Studio “Acoustic version” becomes an unforgettable party with a lot of champagne and cream cake.
In 2004 the singer makes the single “Music`s in me”, filming with the help of KiK Electronics (Samsung) “The white video” to the song and presents it to the Seven Music awards of MM TV in the town of Veliko Tarnovo.
2006 Ani participates at the Bulgarian Eurovision Contest with the song "I'll
Light Your Fire". She goes to the finals and dedicates her success to Rossen Cheshmedjiev- the composer of the song, who dies in 2005.
The summer of 2007 turns out to be very exciting for Ani. In July she plays in the first edition of the adventure show Fort
Boyard, named The Battle Of The Balkans Bulgaria, Serbia And Turkey.
The game originates from France and has been filmed already for 20 years in an old castle in the Atlantic ocean.
