2009 was another great year for the Trailmen with lots of good times and good gigs behind us.
Solo shows in Florida along with our weekly gigs in NY and NJ brought new tunes, new fans and new musicians into the band.
A highlight show of the year was in July at Six Flags/Great Adventure when we opened for the Freedom Festival with Charlie Daniels. It was 100 degrees and must have been 100% humidity!!
Our new CD "Git Outta Town" was recorded in the fall in NY at Dare Studios and mixed and mastered with Tony Rockliff Productions in Florida. The new cd contains 9 songs written by Tom Hood and listeners will hear an expansion of musical tastes and directions....
"Hand on the Bible" has a southern rock/gospel feel with soaring double guitar solos. "Love in the Garden" uses a rock/jazz edge with Hendrix overtones to talk about a torn relationship. "Billboard for Beer" is a kicking country swing tune that will fill the dance floor with two steppers. "Face of America" has a Dylan story style and reflects on the USA today. "Freight Train" is a Kinks meets Weaser rocker. "Fool's Gold" tells the story of a man chasing the elusive dream of striking it rich... only to discover he has struck out. "Tiny Tim Blues" features Hood on Ukulele and Harmonica doing a tribute to Tiny Tim. "Stupid" is a ditty than we all can relate to. "Terms & Conditions" closes the cd with a rock jam about too many lawyers.
