Two Time Best Female Solo Artist Australia Feritta represents a new generation in music. Seamlessly blending between Bollywood and Hollywood, east and west, this unique Australian born singer embraces her Indian roots to create a true cross-over artist. Having already enjoyed success in a variety of independent & international online charts Feritta's debut album, "A Journey Begins" marks the beginning of new sound and a beautiful journey for those who come along for the ride...

Often when you read about stars today you’ll hear that from the moment they could walk and talk they were singing and dancing or that their parents had them in every singing, music and dance class possible but Feritta was just a regular kid who sang in choirs because it was fun. At age eleven she was awarded a scholarship to study the clarinet which she continued for two years. Things changed when she began high school and music fell into the background as her parents wanted her focus on academics. Her teenager years were a tricky balancing act of trying to be a normal "Aussie" teenage girl and trying please her traditional, conservative parents.

As was expected university followed but for the first time Feritta realized this wasn’t her true passion or calling. She wanted something more. That something was music - to find and cultivate her creative talents. With a goal in mind, Feritta begin vocal coaching with Lucy D'Olimpio of Harmony School of Voice and Music who saw her potential and encouraged her to pursue her dream.

Her first experiences with the music industry taught her a lot when Feritta signed to a record label who promised big dreams but in the end the label went under and Feritta had nothing to show for herself. It was a cruel blow and there was a growing tide of advice pushing her to give up music and get a “real job”. Feritta would not give up and she continued to write, sing and perform live. In time she was introduced to UK writers and producers Dean Hopkins and Brian Highet.

Feritta recorded several tracks with them. "Boyfriend", went straight to # 1 on the independent mp3 music charts. Shortly after she also performed their track "Be What U Wanna Be" in Melbourne, Australia as a finalist out of nearly 150 acts in a national music competition. The tracks also received airplay. Soon after this collaboration the Hopkins and Highet disbanded. Feritta grabbed her opportunity to have more input in her music and career and approached Hopkins with the idea of a collaborative Indian/R&B/Pop project. Their first collaboration, "Don't Tell Me That You're Sorry" reached #2 on the mp3.com.au charts and remained in the R&B top 20 for over a year.

Her persistence has paid off with her tracks enjoying huge success on various independent and online music charts. Her music has been in the USA Broadjam.com Charts including the Pop Top 10, Contemporary R&B Top Ten, Production Top 10, Female Vocal Top 10, Australian Top 10 , California Top 10, and more - often with two tracks dominating a single Top Ten chart at any one time. She has also had several #1 hits on the Broadjam charts. Feritta has also been a nominee in the prestigious Australian WAMi Awards. She has also twice benn voted Best Female Solo Artist Australia in the International Music Aid Awards, (2006 & 2007) and wrote and performed the beautiful Official Theme Song, "The Light" to open the respected 4th World Zoroastrian Youth Congress in Victoria, Australia.

She has collaborated with renowned Trance Producer Ronski Speed, UK's DJ and Radio Host - Bobby B, and up and coming Australian producer Suki D. Recently Feritta added producer to her list of skills after writing, performing and producing three Hindi songs for her first independent film project with Asopa Films Inc. and Twinkle Productions, “The Taste of Relation”, releasing end of 2009. One of her current collaborations is a remix with Kenz Desai, America's foremost Asian Music Producer who has worked with Bollywood’s music superstars Sonu Nigam, Udit Narayan and Bally Sagoo.

Performing and promoting “A Journey Begins” has seen Feritta open to sold out crowds for the “The Godfather of Bhangra” Bally Sagoo in Australia and Mumbai’s star DJ, DJ Nawed in the USA. DJ Nawed has produced for Bollywood superstars such as Shahrukh Khan.

A keen business woman, with a business degree in hand, Feritta is now also branching out into merchandising and will soon be launching her own fashion and accessories label.

Feritta is represented by the US Company, Bella's House of PR. who has also worked with and represented Universal Music Group, Virgin Records and DMX.
