Swirl was formed by the Jones brothers- guitarist Duane "DT" and drummer Brian "Bam Bam" Jones, who were raised in Alaska. California natives lead singer Al Ramirez and bassist Shane Carlson complete the line up!
Swirl most recently left the studio with 2 new tracks ("Adrenaline" and "Sleepwalker") that feature Cinderella drummer Fred Coury playing on, producing and mixing the tracks. "Adrenaline" and "Sleepwalker" were added to tracks previously produced by both Carlos Cavazo (RATT/ Quiet Riot) and Matt Thorr (Rough Cutt and 2003 Grammy nominated Engineer) make up the 'Timeline' release. Swirl's writing style of blending old school Hard Rock/ Heavy Metal influences, cleverly combined with fresh, catchy, modern production values (all final mixes done by Fred Coury) and high energy live show is gaining the band a large following and getting the band a lot of attention in a very short time.
Swirl can be heard on over 120 internet rock radio stations and has developed a strong You Tube following with the performance clips posted by the band, friends and fans. Check out

Release:
In Mukilteo, Washington, brothers Duane and Brian Jones (DT and Bam-Bam, respectively) started the group Swirl. They released a CD, toured the United States and even went to Japan in the late 90’s into the early 2000’s. In 2004 Fred Coury remixed songs from their first CD. With the insertion of band members Al Ramirez (lead singer) and Sane Carlson (bass) in 2008, the group finally had their ducks in a row and began their quest to deliver their music to the masses.
Swirl’s new single, “Adrenaline”, which features Cinderella drummer Fred Coury, is off of their new CD, “Timeline”. This CD is a compilation of music produced by either Fred Coury, Carlos Cavazo or Matt Thorr. The master was mixed by Fred Coury. According to Swirl, the meaning behind this particular song has to do with standing up for what you believe in – not giving up and going for what you want in the face of those who put road blocks in front of you. To me it’s staying the course, staying focused and not giving an inch in any other direction but the road you have carved out for yourself. Indeed, this group has quite a determination and a sound that captures that emotion. In fact, the entire CD has an array of emotion. There is no set mood or tone to these songs. With every song, there is a personal experience that backs it up. You can feel those stories right through your very core.
Swirl is the new rock of age. They surpass the bands from earlier decades and have created a new look and sound for today’s rock music. Their songs are crisp and full of emotion. They are also catchy tunes with sustainability. They are full of radio friendly tunes, thick with rhythmic movements and hooks - need I say more? My personal interpretation of these songs are a plethora of sensations and dynamic high lights that need to be experienced by each one of us.
You can have than experience, too. This new CD has been released both digitally and physically. You can also listen to earlier works such as “Out of Nowhere”, written and released in 1999.
Between October 23, 2008 and November 22, 2009, Swirl has performed over 70 shows with either Slaughter, Stephen Pearcy, Britny Fox, Bullet Boys, RATT, Extreme, Pat Travers, L.A. Guns or Souls of We. They have performed in almost every state of our union and have been endorsed by companies such as Charvel Guitars, Jackson Guitars, Mesa Engineering, Seymour Duncan, Spectraflex, Excetelyne, Spector, Yamaha, Super Naturals, Dean Markley Strings, Furman Sound and Pickboy. They will continue to tour to promote this and upcoming projects.
