Created in the spring of 2007 as a project band for bassist Tyler Baker, the band was formally known as Shattowkase. From the beginning guitarist Jake Mellinger and drummer Wesley Alexsonshk, Bakers step-brother, were on board. Through an acquaintance in high school Alexsonshk found guitarist Daniel Powell. Originally Baker was the lead singer, however one day while practicing Powell let out a glutteral scream which intrigued the other members to let him try lead vocals. When it became apparent that Danny Powell’s voice was strong both in power and diversity he became the bands de facto lead singer with baker and later Alexsonshk assuming back-ups. Soon after this change up the members desired a name change and Powell and Alexsonshk rechristened the band as Fatal Method.

Bringing over the songs Pay the Reaper and Perpetual Dream from Shattowkase, Fatal Method spent much of the remainder of 2007 meticulously writing new songs and practicing. With Jake Mellinger originally writing much of the guitar work early on songs such as Hell’s Hot Scene, a chemistry developed between him and Powell and the two began writing together synergizing with Alexsonshk to create the music. With Powell writing the bulk of the lyrics, and Alexsonshk contributing, the band finally had enough music to begin performing.

With exception to playing a small set at a house show as Shattowkase, Fatal Method fully unveiled itself to the world playing a small, but energetic gig at a local venue. While initially restrained and somewhat timid, the band began to grow more tenacious fostering a greater stage presence as their local fans and concert goers immediately embraced their frenzied guitar work, bombastic drums, and dynamic vocalizations.

With the end of 2008 approaching Fatal Method wrapped up the music writing process and began recording their first full length album, White Nightmare. Still playing shows, much of this period was devoted to refining the sound of their songs and recording. After a little over a month of perfecting their music, Fatal Method completed, and began the sale of the White Nightmare album in January of 2009.

Since then Fatal Method plans to continue writing new music and plans on coming to your town in the near future on a nationwide tour.

Press Release:

Fatal Method was created in the spring of 2007 as a project band for bassist Tyler Baker. Back then it was known as Shattowkase. From the onset, guitarist Jake Mellinger and drummer Wesley Alexsonshk, Tyler’s step-brother, were on board. With the introduction of guitarist Daniel Powell, the band was now set. Originally Tyler was lead singer, until Daniel Powell revealed his vocal talents which captured the attention of all the members. You couldn’t keep vocals like that under wraps. With a dynamic voice and a wide vocal range, Daniel Powell became the bands de facto lead and Daniel Powell and Wesley Alexonshk assumed back-up positions. Soon after that change up, they changed their name to Fatal Method.

Utilizing songs from such as “Pay the Reaper” and “Perpetual Dream” from their Shattowkase days, Fatal Method spent much of the remainder of 2007 writing new songs and perfecting their technique. Early on, Jake Mellinger wrote much of the guitar work. When Jake and Danny put their talents together, their collaboration ignited the power of creativity. The two began writing feverishly, in sync and in focus. With Wesley Alexsonshk creating the music and Daniel Powell writing the bulk of the lyrics the band finally began to form into a powerful, dynamic sound. They were ready to show their audience what they were made of.

As Fatal Method, the band began to unveil themselves to the world by playing small, yet energetic shows at local hot spots. Slowly the band began to develop the confidence once their fan base grew. They began to develop a stage presence as local fans and concert goes stormed the stage to hear their electrifying guitar work, insane drums and magnetic vocals. Today, Fatal Method is proud to release their new CD, “White Nightmare”. Of this CD a lead single, “Hell’s Hot Scene” began to morph into a life of its own. It is a parody to giving ‘hell’ an altered state – an inviting place to go, sort to speak. Once you’re in there, there’s no way out. Fatal Method’s analogy is “a portrayal of Hell -specifically on Hollow’s Eve and the craziness and confusion you encounter throughout it.” With distorted – almost demonic vocals and quick riffs, your adrenaline will pump faster than the tempo of this song. Fatal Method truly lives up to its name. This song is representative of the entire CD as some of the common denominators in these songs run the gamut from abnormally structured lyrics to, brutal screaming (with overlaying of clean , crisp vocals) along with electrifying riffs. It has a secondary emotional reaction that creates the feeling of power and control. These songs are dynamic and fabulous to listen to. The arrangements on these songs have many layers to them and the delivery is outstanding. “White Nightmare” has been released both digitally and physically. The artwork for this CD is unique in the fact that it was all created by Danny Powell.

A few of Fatal Methods accomplishments are:
October, 2009 – Opened for STEMM at the Carriage House in Louisville
June, 2009 – Opened for Ventana at the Carriage House Concert and Nite Club
July, 2010 – Opened for FLAW

After releasing their second EP in the spring of 2011, they are planning an Eastern U.S. tour with possibilities of heading out West. Fatal Method is currently working with A & R Select in West Hollywood, for publishing, licensing, a record deal and/or placement opportunities.
