"Sal Piamonte" A bastard rock child conceived in a Rock n' Roll orgy of sound and lyric
Wednesday, 11 January 2012
“Ever seen the devil in a flowered dress?” hymns Piamonte on “What’cha Say,” one of the many dangerously catchy tracks on his newest hard-rockin’ LP, “lives in devil city.” This 10-song gem, written, composed, and produced by Piamonte, reads like a good vs evil struggle of a man in turmoil, painting the story of a soul tormented by the betrayal of love lost, and the “I don’t give a f*ck” backlash that follows while fighting his demons. Tales of lust and retribution equally contrast confessions of honest reflection and unwavering faith, a place where the good in him yearns to believe in rising above the ashes, while the pain warns of a fiery vengeance that threatens to unleash like the wrath and fury of Hell itself. Joining the sonic assault, Sal is backed by an explosive and fiery rock band, which includes Eric Disero (who also mixed and mastered the album), Dan Stadnicki (Serial Joe, Liam Titcomb), Mike Goyette (Artificial Joy Club, Save Ferris), and Dan Joseph. The first radio single, “Take Me Home,” will soon be invading the airwaves across the nation, blazing a path of destruction for other predicted album hits, including “Get up, get up,” “Just A Little Bit,” “Go All Night,” and the monster “Tonight.”
A bastard child born under the sign of fire, Sal Piamonte’s energy and presence in the world has begun to ignite and glow with fiery purpose, confirmed by the many mystics from around the world have reached out to him with powerful messages of destiny and fulfillment. Guided by the spirit of a Great Indian Chief, 2 large wolves keeping a protective vigil over his animal totem and movement on this earth, and the voices of loved ones past that speak to him guide him in his sleep, Sal Piamonte is not just a man of dreams, he is a man of destiny. Possessing not only the creative gift of word and song, but a mystical gift of intuition and psychic awareness, Sal’s journey has curiously led him to intertwine the pursuit of both the study of the human brain and consciousness, becoming a psychological profiler by day, and a musical shaman by night. On many occasions, Sal has openly expressed the feeling that many of his songs have literally “written themselves,” literally “pulling the ideas out of the sky.” Guided by the red cardinal, his beacon in the night, Sal no longer fears the number 27, a number he is hesitant to explain, a number that has haunted his dreams for years. Enlightened, and spiritually connected to forces that defy logical explanation, Sal’s soul has lived many lives, only to realize the destiny that now awaits him. A psychic once became startled while reading his tarot cards, nervously whispering to him that he would one day “have the power to heal millions.” Sal’s destiny is guided not only by his positive message and energy on this earth, but by his Rock n’ Roll spirit that is intended to deliver this message to the rest of the world. It is a “Rock n’ Roll” painted in all of its greatest strengths and flaws, an energy borne of passion, fire, honesty, and deliverance.
Two-time Grammy Award winner Ted Greenberg (Standing In The Shadows of Motown) best sums up the essence of this Canadian born Rock n’ Roller, stating: “Sal Piamonte writes, sings, performs and looks like a rock star. I have had the honor to discover that this is NO act or trick of the light.” World-renowned guitarist Michael “Fish” Herring (Prince, Christina Aguilera, Anastacia, and currently with NKOTBSB) adds: “Sal is the real deal…He’s a true artist who knows how to bring emotion, dynamics and vision together in his music to create an honest, soulful sound. Sal’s blend of rock is timeless – a modern classic.”
Breaking into the American market with songs “Humble Heart,” and “Moments They Pass,” from his 2008 “Rogue EP” release, Sal then proceeded to write, record, and self-produce 2010’s “Free Money LP,” which not only demonstrated Sal’s versatility as a world-class songwriter and producer, but got him signed to a worldwide publishing deal with 2850 Music (Lionel Ritchie, GroupLove, John Waite, etc) in Santa Monica, California in the process. Kendra Beltran, of Bryan Farrish Radio Promotions in Los Angeles, adds: “Anyone who enjoys a good time, will want to not only own this record, but see Sal live because any artist that can make someone move that much on just a recording will definitely deliver an unforgettable live show. Versatility is key to making someone great, and Sal Piamonte has just that.”
