Country singer-songwriter Shannon Walker is emerging as one of the most promising new artists to arrive from Nashville this year. Shannon is creating a huge buzz on Music Row, both for his unique vocal talent and heartfelt songwriting abilities. Record label executives discovered him a few months ago while he was performing at the legendary Bluebird Café. Within weeks after signing a record deal, Walker was cutting tracks at the renowned Quad Studios in Nashville with some of Music City’s “A-list” session musicians. Although recent developments in Shannon’s career have appeared meteoric, this overnight sensation has taken almost ten years to cultivate.

Shannon has been co-writing with some of Nashville’s top hit songwriters, including Grammy Award Winning Harley Allen. Allen has penned seven number one songs including Blake Shelton’s, “The Baby” and “If Nobody Believed in You” by Joe Nichols. Harley Allen co-wrote Shannon’s first single “That’s Why God Made Me”.

Hitpredictor, a song-testing firm published in Billboard Magazine, recently tested “That’s Why God Made Me” resulting in a score of 88.8. This lofty score strongly indicates that this single is at least a top 10 record at Country radio! The song tested higher than current hits from major artists including Toby Keith’s “Love Me If You Can”, Kenny Chesney’s “Don’t Blink”, and Brooks & Dunn’s “Proud of the House We Built”, to name a few!

“That’s Why God Made Me” is now available exclusively on I-tunes. Shannon Walker’s self-titled debut album will be released in mid March 2008. The eighteen-track album will be distributed exclusively by DM/Ryko/Warner Music Group.

These days Shannon Walker is spending most of his time making friends on Myspace. He is gaining a tremendous amount of friends and plays on his site. Please visit Shannon’s site at: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=84608202

Biography:
Born on the outskirts of Atlanta seems a common occurrence. Loving to sing in church, on any stage and for anyone who will listen is also a conventional theme among today's upcoming country hopefuls. When it comes to Shannon Walker, he's anything but ordinary. From the warmth of his richly soothing voice to the old school connection from time's past, he inflects into the songs he pens. Shannon is a new breed of old time country. Known to be a "natural" on the stage, Shannon has enjoyed every single moment of his long ride to landing his first record deal in Nashville. Shannon sets himself apart by the very things he does best, painting pictures with his words and honing in on incredibly universal themes while still being unique in his delivery, lyric and voice. Expect great things from Shannon, but don't expect the usual.
