Dry September is an LA-based rock band at the forefront of rock's New Populism movement. Their songs tell stories of defiance, resistance, and community--stories of downtrodden outcasts and underdogs from across the American landscape. Their crunchy guitars, Hammond organs, and catchy melodies recall some of rock's boldest artists, past and present: Bob Dylan, Elvis Costello, Counting Crows, Snow Patrol. Or, as the band members describe themselves, “Woody Guthrie meets The Clash.”

Their latest CD, entitled “Build a New Town,” features 10 new tracks. These songs present characters at their most defiant, most hungry, and most vulnerable, fighting for dignity during hard times in a hard land.

Dry September has been performing regularly in support of their new CD. Recent appearances include shows at The Roxy, The Viper Room, and The Knitting Factory.
