His material released as MP3s on the internet are already getting numerous hits as is his video Dark featuring the Queens of Goth "The Devil Dolls" With his electronic sounds, rock edge, industrial overtones and bordering a dark, goth feel, coupled with his punk background, I.F.U. has managed to put something together here that is all his own. July 1, 2007 Industrial Funk Union announces follow-up to World War Won Hollywood, CA Industrial Funk Union has revealed the forthcoming release of a follow-up to April's successful “World War Won.” This purveyor of machine funk rock (you could also think of it as industrial trip-hop) will be unleashing, in September, the potency that is “World War Too.” Drawing heavily from an eclectic batch of sources that include post-modern soul, gritty industrial and new wave art rock, IFU creates a unique but highly accessible sound that pulls together the pop-happy crowd as well as the selective brain music crowd. It's the ultimate fusion of primal fun and cerebral exercise. Springboarding from talk of his style, Al Simpson of IFU discusses the importance of the DIY ethic. He recognizes, he says, the challenging aspects of music that may be catchy but doesn't color between the lines. Sometimes, Simpson believes, you have to bring your sound to the people through determination and self-reliance. Simpson says that Industrial Funk Union will be touring come this fall in conjunction with the release of “World War Too.” More information is available by visiting www.ifumusic.com , www.myspace.com/ifu , www.myspace.com/ifutechno and www.arselect.com.
