Siga La Flecha’s logo has ten arrows pointing in every direction. Which is the one to follow? “That’s what it’s all about! In our music there’s arrows pointing everywhere. There’s electronic music, there’s reggae, there’s funk, there’s psychedelia…”
Each of the members’ different personalities is mixed in this project. SLF’s search is not only musical: pictures of various photographers and theatre elements can be seen in its shows. SLF fuses electronic, reggae, rock and world music. This combination of audiovisual material makes SLF a very interesting and particular proposal offering the audience a multiple stimulation of senses. This is the aim of Lisandro Aloi, a photographer who has travelled the world capturing landscapes and everyday scenes. One of the eccentricities of the band is giving little toys as souvenirs to the audience.
The band released its first almbun “Siga La Flecha and The Panvisual Orientation System” on 2005.
Their first two videos “Relax” and “Sugus” have been rotating in MTV and other music channels in Argentina.
The band played in important festivals such as Pepsi Music (2005,2006 & 2007) in Argentina and the Electronic Music and Visual Arts Festival (2007) in Brazil. SLF has also been playing in the most important local scene.
The band is now working on its second album, emphasizing on guitars and with collaborations of newly invited musicians.
What does SIGA LA FLECHA (follow the arrow) mean?
An introduction to the ideology behind Siga La Flecha implies looking to the root energy existing in each of us. The virtue Aristotle wrote about, the path Tao spoke of, or the interior and own vibe of every individual. Many different philosophies and religions of the world reached similar conclusions as regards each person’s path. Siga La Flecha’s philosophy respects them all, but reminds us that they don’t have to crash between them. In order to pursue this, a shield of sincerity has to be created around the arrow of every individual, of every culture, and seek respect around the world.
The image of a circle with an arrow inside it is not only a worldwide sign, but it also
symbolizes a united and developed world. It also represents a direction of an individual or culture, protected by the shield of sincerity that we have just spoke about. Without sincerity or respect, two directions crash: murders, wars and all kinds of aggressions and non-love demonstrations take place.
On the other hand, Siga La Flecha’s logo (many arrows pointing in different directions) represents the universe expansion.
Simply, every path is valid as long as it doesn’t hurt others. The world belongs to everyone and is our duty to take care of it, doing what we love: this is what makes humanity expand.
Just as an excuse to seed respect all over the world, Siga La Flecha inspires itself on an urban context that can be seen in every big city: the signs, the arrows, and the continuous manipulation of the media…
… and lots, lots of fun!
Enjoy the music!
Biography: SLF was born in the year 2000 as a project of the singer and guitarist Lisandro Aloi. On a study trip to Los Angeles he registered some demos of improvised music, and showed them to the percussionist Diego Hernandez when he came back to Argentina. With the initial pair established, there were dozens of recordings and many musicians participated in SLF (even the actor Fernando Peña with his creatures), until the first CD was finished.
But not even then the mutation of the band did stop. Hernandez left the band after a gastronomic project, although he kept supporting the band as part of its “energy ball”. Fernando Perri, who had recorded voices for SLF’s CD, became the bassist of the band. Soon two more incorporations took place: Emanuel Manso as keyboard player and programming and the drummer Alejandro Wasserreich.
In 2007 Perri left to Brazil and a new bassist became part of the band: Andres Aloi. Even though this is the definitive line up of the band, SLF is characterized for having many invited musicians on scene. On their last shows, hip-hop artist El Ghetto, featured with SLF. His rap adds just one more style to their music.
