Sheryl-Dawn Ryan, songstress/musician/recording artist joined SOLID FUEL as their lead Vocalist, she fronts the band wonderfully and everyone knows she truly enjoys what she does when they watch her perform. “Awesome” truly describes her performances.
Her first CD, released primarily in Australia and New Zealand was well received, and “Here Comes Love” topped the Independent charts at No. 11. Her newest project, “I Believe in Me” is now available and the title track “Believe in Me” and “Sweet Low Rider” are garnering interest & being played on some country stations in a regular rotation and “Sweet Low Rider” was just released nationally across Canada. She has garnered the nomination for Best Recording Engineer for this album with the Niagara Music Awards.p>
Her musical influences include a variety of great artists such as Bonnie Raitt, Amanda Marshall and Alannah Miles as well as Wynonna Judd and Patsy Cline These, combined with her truly unique approach to adult contemporary music give you a good sense of this lady’s style which combines Rock, Blues and a hint of Country and is rounded with such power that eyes open wide when she sings out.
She has shared the stage with performers such as Ian Mitchell of Rosetta Stone and the Bay City Rollers, CMT Award winning Julian Austin, Shelley Buffitt, Rita Fournier and Transit as well as Big John “T-Bone” Little, who traveled with Janis Joplin throughout her Canadian Tours, Dallas Harmes, Winston James, Ray Powers, The Chamber Sisters, Marty West and Hidden Agenda to name but a few. She is currently touring with Stars of the Century appearing as “Wynonna Judd” and “Mary Chapin-Carpenter” and will be touring New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland October 25 through November 6th, 2007. When not touring, she can be seen locally on most Friday and Saturday evenings at local venues with SOLID FUEL. A New Zealand tour is currently in the planning for late summer 2008 focusing on I Believe in Me.
