Model K is a new Los Angeles based indie/chamber/rock band quickly making a name for themselves on the LA music scene. Model K is the result of a collaboration between longtime friends Marcos Menendez and Alessandro Mastrobuono who met in New York City many years ago. During that time, the two always played music together, but only in the last couple of years, recently thought to write songs together and build a live show. Menendez originally hailing from Queens, New York and Mastrobuono from Chicago, are joined by keyboardist Greg Zola, Yasmin de Soiza on violin, Jeanie Lim 0n viola, Alisha Bauer on cello, and Chris Berlin on drums. With the release of their eponymous debut EP Model K, they are becoming a sought after act at clubs like Hotel Cafe, Viper Room, Knitting Factory, Spaceland, Bordello and more. In addition to playing live, Model K has been played on Los Angeles radio station Indie 103.1's Check one...two and in several other markets around the country as part of the Undiscovered radio network's syndicated shows. Look for the Model K show dates in a city near you in 2008 as they venture to Las Vegas, Chicago, New York, San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, Japan, Italy, Spain, France and the UK.
