Press Reviews  Former VILLAGE VOICE editor and current Billboard editor NYC's own Chuck Eddy writes about Prom Nite

ATOMIC BITCH -- Tuneful self-released La.-via-L.A. band, led by a strong-voiced gal named Ursulla, plenty of glammy '80s Cali pop and glammy '80s Cali rock color in their sound (I liked the EP they put out in '06 too); not a lot of country on Promnite, but one of the best songs (at least partially about lemon merengue pie and getting tied up) is called "Hillbilly Swing," and it has a bit of a twang to it (along with some Bowie glam in the high notes), so that's a way in. I also like "Suspicious Hair Dryer," which is a good fuzzy dancey song (with some Blur or Pavement in its woo-hoos but not in a bad way) about a household appliance (possibly used as a weapon), with brand names (Maytag, Sunbeam) and pink hair curlers adding speficity. And in another song Ursulla shares a leather jacket with a boy, and in "Easy There Tiger" she tells a boy to slow down

ATOMIC BITCH's 2006 record "Body Shop" makes # 24 in the THE IDOLATOR 2006 JACKIN' POP Critics POLL contributor Chuck EDDY 24. Atomic Bitch – Bodyshop (Top & Bottom EP)

I´m really enjoying playing the new Atomic Bitch album UK FFRUK.com UK DIY STEVE>>> I´m really enjoying playing the new Atomic Bitch album ´Bodyshop´ and I have to say this is one of the best albums I´ve heard this year. Musically they have a great Indie/Punk sound that compliments the voice of their wicked vocalist Ursulla Tadlock. Atomic Bitch have been described as sounding similar to the likes of ´Peaches´, ´Annie Lennox´ and ´Blondie´ and that´s something I wouldn´t disagree with but there is plenty of originality in their sound too! For me the opening track ´Shortbus´ made this album for me but to get the best out this song I suggest you check out their video HERE. It´s just a shame that the video hasn´t been featured as an extra on the album. Ten songs in all and everyone a little different from the other especially ´Lipstick-Dynamite´ which has a ´Rap´ influence to it. Have a listen to the title track ´Bodyshop´ and ´Polly Punkneck´ both of which stood out for me. Apart from a great album you can´t fault the production either and if this is the last album you buy in 2006 make sure it´s this baby. (Top And Bottom) 9/10 stars

I'm Digging this Atomic Bitch San Diego, CA 2007 Reviewer Magazine... Atomic Bitch: "Body Shop" (Top & Bottom Records) Well, they're back. That kick-ass duo, born and bred in New Orleans but transplanted to So-Cal with the rest of us freaks, Atomic Bitch is back, better than ever with "Body Shop", their third album and it looks like they've scored some label support now, being released by Top and Bottom Records. I believe their 2003 release "What's Inside" was self-released. I really dug the opener, "Short Bus", an upbeat way to start an album. The rest of it rocked to and fro. Ursulla Tadlock and Brad Davis are a synergistic duo that make a big sound when they put they're powers together. The title track is also a really catchy tune; it's got this infectious, groovy hook to it and you can't help but be drawn to it if you're doing something else while listening to it; ditto for "Goobertron" – the whole album is full of songs like these – tunes that have such damn catchy riffs to them, they're bound to stick with you, ricocheting around inside your head for long after you've finished listening to the CD. Sterling Preston Nov. 2007 Reviewer Magazine The press packet that accompanied the submission of this cd to our offices contained a few gems. The band's style was described as SKANK ROCK with a Punk Hickey and a SOUL KISS. Promoting "ten new tracks of Biatch Rock and Roll," the notes mention that the record "combines electronic beats, synths, gold spandex, Bitch Hop and a punk attitude." Entertaining propaganda aside, Atomic Bitch are the energetic embodiment of the best parts of the 80s mixed with enough whiskey to leave you hung over for two days, a muscle-car drive across the country and a particularly kinky motel rendezvous with someone you met in a dive bar. Atomic Bitch: Exciting straight-up rock with slicing licks. Los Angeles, CA 2005 Music Connection LIVE REVIEW Atomic Bitch: Exciting straight-up rock with slicing licks. Viper Room West Hollywood

Material: Performing straight-up rock, Atomic Bitch is not afraid to bring it on. With music that would be appropriate for classic rock station KLOS, or hard rock station KROQ, Atomic Bitch has claimed its territory. Tadlock's voice is like a sword and performs like rock's elite. In fact, you can literally feel her strength within the dynamics of each song. Musicianship: Romero and Horton both deliver incredible licks on their axes, The foundation provided by Romero on bass and Davis on drums is mesmerizing, as is Tadlock's command of the stage. Drummer Davis played guitar on the last song. Performance: Atomic Bitch put on a show that was a feast for the eyes as well as the ears. Tadlock possessed the stage, exuding charisma and command in her vocals and presence. The band put all they had into the show, including taking off their shirts. Summary: Tadlock has rock star qualities and the band showcases her best qualities. All the players are talented musicians. ––Bob Leggett

BITCH ROCK, BIG ROCK, HYPNOTIC ROCK New Orleans,2003 OFFBEAT Magazine Robert Fontenot Atomic Bitch What's Inside (Top and Bottom Records) The pop-punk duo Atomic Bitch put in a lot of hours in any number of New Orleans bands, but they fled to Los Angeles to record and promote this debut CD. And why not? This city wouldn't know what to do with their particular, peculiar brand of warm and fuzzy rock. That's a compliment: What's Inside is loaded with shiny happy hooks that sound like vintage El Lay hair metal with smarts or the kind of glossy late-'80s pop Iggy Pop wound up painting himself in. The perfectly named "Transistor Radio," for example, sounds like the Runaways picking up late-period Hüsker Dü and robbing them blind. This would make tracks like "Girl Distraction" sound like yesterday's news if the riffs weren't so timelessly fat and bone-simple. Indeed, between Brad Davis' distorted candygloss guitar and Ursula's sunshine harmonies, it's impossible not to get lost in the gorgeousness of it all, even as the lyrics remain inscrutable (or, mainly, indecipherable). If Andrew W.K. can make a cottage industry out of gloriously dopey party pop, surely the great compost heap of angsty modern rock could use a giant guitar-laden Prozac like Atomic Bitch. -Robert Fontenot

ATOMIC BITCH on BAD TASTE Boston, Mass 2006 www.BAdtastemusic.com  Rick Dorman ATOMIC BITCH is not a typical band you expect me to say I like…But guess what? I like it. Most of you out there know I have an appetite or thirst for heavy rock. ATOMIC BITCH is a band I can say, "pretty groovy man". Punky glam, pop flavored, new wave are all the ways I would describe the 3rd release from this California (originally from Louisiana) band. Fuzzy groovy guitar tone, good fun lyrics & good lead vocals. When listening to Body Shop, I get a little bit of a Veruca Salt vibe meets 80's new wave. Highlight for me is really good voice. My favorite songs on Body Shop are: "Mono to Stereo, "Lipstick = Dynamite", "Hip To The Kiss", "Rockit Video", "Short Bus", "Body Shop", If they ever play in New England, I might have to go check them out. My guess they have a lot of energy live. Fun, upbeat music that makes you wants to move around.I like it. Go check it out! Got to get me one of those AB rock t-shirts.

THE SCOTS are Bitchin about Atomic Bitch Feb. 2007 www.bluesbunny.com  Scotland Atomic Bitch Bodyshop 2006 One of the most impressive - or perhaps annoying - things about getting old is that you get to see everything again. Atomic Bitch could just have stepped up and played at CBGBs or the Roxy judging by the evidence of this album. The drummer, Brad D., keeps a Marky Ramone style, pile driving rhythm going throughout the album and lead singer Ursulla's vocals are Patti Smith meets the Go-Gos. Kicking off with the scene setter "Shortbus", it is immediately clear that this band have learned much from the punk heritage. "Mono to Stereo" and "Polly Punkneck" are neat, commercial pop songs in a brightly coloured, punk wrapper. "Goobertron" is irritatingly catchy and so is "Hip to the Kiss". "Creepy Face" sounded like a cranked up take on the kind of songs produced by the likes of Vanity in the eighties. Sassy, but sweet natured, we felt an uncontrollable urge to smile while we were listening to this album. We really liked this album. It could have jumped straight out of a seventies punk time warp but it is a very good example of its genre and bears up well to repeated plays. The songs hang about in your head long after the CD has stopped and that is always a good sign. Like we said, there are plenty of radio friendly pop songs on display. That will do nicely, as they say! Available from CD Baby. And whilst we remember, this album is best played loud. www.atomicbitch.com

Atomic Bitch is the result of the explosive synergy between two New Orleans transplants to the city of Los Angeles. Brad Davis and Ursulla Tadlock are the creative force behind the music and vision. Just listen to what others are saying about them in the States and around the world...

Female vocalists have to have spunk for me to enjoy them - whether they're backed by a jagged indie-rock band or an acoustic guitar, there has to be some attitude for me to like them. The vocalist for AB definitely has spunk. www.IndependentClauses.com  Music Blog 2007
