Highfire Skyline was formed in the beginnings of 2007 after the break-up of one of New Hampshire’s most well-known technical metal bands, The Nicaea Room. As rock music always held strong to a place in each of the members’ hearts, a new project seemed overwhelmingly imminent. Andy, Kevin, Jason, and Matt decided this was the time. Songs came into structure, and the name Highfire Skyline came into form. They then entered to studio with longtime friend Jonny Fay (of Deadwater Drowning & the Red Chord) to record some live pre-production tracks with the hopes of securing a front-man. After many very grueling and unsuccessful try-outs, one person stood out the most; the decision was made to invite Matt back for one last go. Everything seemed to click, and the lineup was complete.

After re-working and doing some production to the songs, Highfire Skyline was ready to record. Once again, they confided in Jonny Fay at his studio in Milford, NH, Backyard Studios. Four tracks were decided upon and recorded. After mixing was complete, Jonny sent the demo over to Nick Zampiello of New Alliance East Studios in Boston, MA for mastering. The demo was “released” on August 18th, 2007 for the world to hear. Although Highfire Skyline’s existence has been short, it has been a very positive ride. There are many plans for Highfire Skyline in the coming months with unlimited potential, and they hope you will all be a part of it!

Press Release: "Hailing from a land where hardcore and nu-metal seem to prevail, Highfire Skyline seems like an anomalous gem in a pool of watered down, tired licks. Highfire Skyline is an onslaught of high energy rock, with angular pop hooks and a soaring vocal floating high above the chaos, oblivious to the bar line, yet tightly woven into the fabric of the music. The harmonies are lush and unconventional and the band sounds like a blazing firestorm of guitar texture and wizardry. If you only listen to one CD all year, you really need to get out more. This band is truly amazing. Check it!" - (Joel Simches - The Noise/Boston)
