Ken began playing guitar at age 13 and has never looked back. Inspired by guitarists as diverse as Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai and Yngwie Malmsteen, Ken has crafted a guitar style that spans generations. Mixing elements of hard rock, heavy metal and blues, he walks a tightrope between emotionally filled guitar playing with flashes of virtuoso playing, creating a style that is uniquely his own. Occasionally progressive elements slip into Ken's writing and arranging, tipping his hat to his diverse influences and keeping his music fresh and exciting. This was evidenced by the song Voyage to Nevermore topping Amazon's free download chart for progressive artist.

Ken spent several years in the LA Based metal band Cut Throat, releasing two cds with that band...1998's self titled debut "Cut Throat" and 2001's "Slave" cd. In 2003 Ken released his first solo cd, the all instrumental cd "One", which was a stylistic departure from Cut Throat, showing a more diverse style long obscured within a band setting. He followed that up with 2005's "Nevermore", which was a logical progression from One, showing even further diversity by including elements of fusion, prog, surf and blues in addition to the core hard rock stylings. 2007 sees Ken releasing his third cd titled "Progressive By Nature". Picking up where Nevermore left off, Progressive By Nature is Ken's most focused release to date.

For fans of instrumental guitar and progressive metal alike from the former Cut Throat guitarist Ken Snyder. Featuring 12 new tunes of shredding guitar including the ripping Pitch Black as heard on the Metal Edge Sampler cd

Ken Snyder is a throwback to the days of guitar heroes in rock, from the mind-altering psychedelic metal of Jimi Hendrix to the epic riffs of Jimmy Page to the intricate soloing of Joe Satriani. - Kit Burns Overground Underground

Ken Snyder doesn’t need Harry Potter’s knowledge of magic because his wizardry requires physical skill and intellectual depth, not mumbo-jumbo witchcraft. And while he can’t make people morph into spiders (unless you’re on some funny substances while listening to this record), Snyder can easily throw you under his spell. - James Wall Metal Wasteland

It's a myth that guitar instrumental albums are just for other guitar players. This is just great music and belongs in anybody's collection who appreciates an incredibly talented musician. What Ken Snyder has done with, 'Progressive By Nature' is prove that great guitar players still do walk this earth. - The Atomic Chaser All Access Magazine
