Torrington, CT Electronic Artist Drew Chadwick has announced that he is now working with A&R Select, the premier A&R firm based out of Los Angeles, CA. Chadwick's red-hot music is leaving burn marks on the world of electronica and dance. Calling forth a rich army of musical influences, he crafts vibrant songs that hold the listener in thrall. Trance, synth pop, house, trip-hop, new wave, folk, funk, jazz, fusion and so much more collide in a brilliant flash of creative energy.
Songs like "Feels Like We're Already There", the latest single from Chadwick, demonstrate the balance and contrast of flavors always surging from this artist. Sharp musical instincts are obviously at work here. Both dark and melodic, Feels Like We're Already Here treads the emotional ground where fear and hope intersect and the musical textures reflect that. Pulsing beat, compelling vocals, thick atmosphere, tremendous melodic sensibilities and production values alive with clarity these elements all stimulate the music lover's third eye.
"Feels Like We're Already There"is rooted in very personal issues, which accounts for much of the song's heart and urgency. "It was written for my daughter who was not supposed to make it to birth", says Chadwick. "She turned 1 in February." Chadwick is an American songwriter, musician, recording artist and multi-instrumentalist with experience on guitar, bass, piano, drums and other percussion, flute, violin, harmonica, banjo, mandolin and vocals; whose work is steeped in a mingling of the organic and electronic. His musical philosophy is based in the idea that improvisation and freestyle lyrics are the superior techniques for capturing the moment in song without misinterpretation. His musical studies are grounded in jazz and his compositional skills were enhanced beyond even their natural strength via exposure to improv. That lesson in life and music was introduced to Chadwick by Jeff Coffin (Flecktones), Christine Corea and Gene V. Baker.
Chadwick's first album was recorded while he was but 16-years-old. It was called "The Winding" and was a collaboration with his high school friends, Ben Wolff, Todd Buslewicz, Brian White and Dave Gingras (of The Bonzai Tribe). 1998 found him moving to pursue a degree in music education at Central Connecticut State University; after his return home, he broadened his horizons by entering the realm of digital recording. Another move found him working with the Peace Corps in 2003-4, an experience Chadwick says brought his mind into even greater focus, a journey of self-discovery that spilled over into his musical endeavors.During that time he released "A Bottled Philosophy."Publishing under his own recording label, Blueproof (Bottled Philosophy Studios), Chadwick is pursuing work in the film and television field. Chadwick has recorded under the names DC and Relapse.
