Modern rock band Illusion 33 releases their new CD – Words In Stereo – November 4th, 2008

After nine years of honing the melody-drenched rock their fans covet, Illusion 33’s new release, Words In Stereo, pours straight from the source. The band members deliver bona fide Illusion 33 with every blazing guitar riff, resonant three-part harmony, dynamic drumbeat and upbeat lyric on this latest CD, to be released by Dummy Boy Records on November 4th, 2008.

Based in Sandpoint Idaho, Illusion 33 members Jesse Bennett (lead vocals/guitar), Jason Stoddard (lead vocals/bass guitar), Bob Capka (guitarist) and K.C. Carter (drums) combine rural accessibility with star-power charisma and showmanship. Heard across the nation on at least 70 different radio stations and awarded “Best Band” status at the Las Vegas Music & Fashion Expo – 2005, this group of multi-talented writers and musicians packs in the fans during local all-age concerts in Sandpoint, to big name venues such as The Palms Casino in Las Vegas, The Warped Tour, Guitar Center Grand Openings, The Orange Blossom Festival and Whiskey A Go-Go-Hollywood in California, as well as many others. Their sound, although reminiscent of some of the great punk, rock and metal bands of the 80’’s and 90’s, has a contemporary edge, like the best indie rock bands of this decade.

“Illusion 33 rocks as hard on the stage as they do promoting themselves on the streets. This is a band both the Fans and the Venue love. ROCK ON!” says Lang, club owner - The Grail/Coeur d’Alene, ID

“When I first heard [their new song] Words in Stereo…I got in contact with Illusion 33 to see about using it in my upcoming film, America’s Core.” “Illusion 33 is one of the most talented groups in the Northwest. On top of their talent resides a great group of people.” Michael Gough – “America’s Core.”

“To put it simply, they sound like they’re already famous.” Zach Hagadone, publisher of the Sandpoint Reader (Idaho).

Biography: It happens over and over again. When Illusion 33 takes the stage, the crowd connects to their modern rock melodies delivered straight from the core – that universal place where the music lives.

After playing together for nine years this multi-talented group of songwriters and musicians have come into their own. In their melody drenched rock you’ll catch riffs reminiscent of some of the great punk, rock and metal bands of the 80’’s and 90’s: Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pearl Jam and Sound Garden. At the same time they’ve got a contemporary edge, like the best indie rock bands of this decade. Although compared to Foo Fighters, Green Day, Fallout Boy and Everclear, when you hear this band burst out in blazing guitar riffs, resonant three-part harmonies, dynamic percussion and upbeat lyrics, it’s all bona fide Illusion 33.

It started with raw ingredients: talent, desire and a combination of luck. In the year 2000, Jesse Bennett (lead vocals/guitar), Jason Stoddard (lead vocals/bass guitar), and K.C. Carter (drums) sat peeling labels off their favorite brew, Rolling Rock, trying to put a name to their musical vision. Someone noticed the number 33 wavering like an illusion on the back of the beer company’s label. Lucky number 33, the horse that won Rolling Rock brewery its start-up money. The number 3 just happened to be both Jesse’s and Jason’s lucky number as well. Two lucky 3’s and illusions of grandeur – the dream of a professional rock band playing music from its heart.

Adding seasoned guitarist Bob Capka to their mix brought in his years of experience touring and sharing stages with top industry names such as Godsmack, Three Doors Down, Nickelback, Live, Sevendust and others. Based in Sandpoint Idaho, Illusion 33 members combine rural accessibility with star-power charisma and showmanship. They play venues throughout the Northwest, ranging from small clubs to outdoor stages, receiving fan mail from pre-teens through college-age devotees and beyond.
